FISH Platform Attends IMO HTW
TechnicalStandardsData

This week marked an important milestone for FISH Platform as we participated in our first meeting at the International Maritime Organization in London.

We are particularly grateful to Dmitrijs Semjonovs , CEO of Novikontas Training Center, who was part of the team representing us at the IMO and proudly wore FISH Platform’s tie presented by Cor Blonk (AFNI), Chair of FISH Platform.

Dmitrijs Semjonovs ’ presence at the IMO reflects the growing recognition that fishing vessel safety, training and professional standards must remain firmly on the international agenda. Engagement at this level matters because safe fishers are the foundation of sustainable fisheries.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Novikontas Training Center for their consistent and valued support of FISH Platform over many years. Their commitment to high-quality maritime training and competence development aligns strongly with our mission to improve safety, health and welfare for fishers worldwide.

A special thank you also to Capt. Hilmar Snorrason , who joined the meetings remotely. His expertise and long-standing experience in fishing vessel safety and training were greatly valued and strengthened our contribution.

Partnership is what drives progress. By bringing together industry leaders, training providers, regulators and fishers themselves, we strengthen the collective voice advocating for safer working conditions across the global fishing fleet.

Thank you to all who represented and supported FISH Platform at the IMO this week.
