Introduction
This project group aims to develop a common approach to improving the stability of commercial fishing vessels.
The project is to report to the FISH Platform of ways in which members may work together in improving stability, including technical standards and training standards.
The group has the ability to refine the Terms of Reference as needed through the project but is reminded that the report should be relevant to international and worldwide fishing vessel stability.
Project Background
During the last two meetings of the FISH Platform, it was identified that all countries identified stability as a major risk of future vessel and crew losses and that individual work by each country was focused on the same problem but looking at vastly different regulatory, technical, and educational solutions.
